How to Use This Tier List
This tier list reflects the current competitive landscape in League of Legends ranked play, focusing on champions with strong carry potential, forgiving skill floors, or overwhelming meta presence. Champions are ranked from S-Tier (dominant, pick-or-ban level) down to C-Tier (situational or undertuned). This is intended for players climbing solo queue, not coordinated 5-stack play.
Note: The meta shifts with every patch. Always cross-reference with recent patch notes when the game updates.
S-Tier: Dominant Picks Right Now
These champions offer outsized impact relative to the effort required and frequently dictate game pace. If you're looking to climb fast, these are worth prioritizing.
- Top Lane: Darius, Garen — both are forgiving to learn, punish mistakes hard, and snowball games.
- Jungle: Vi, Warwick — strong clear, built-in gap close, and reliable ganks at most skill levels.
- Mid Lane: Vex, Syndra — excellent wave clear, impactful teamfighting, and solid survivability tools.
- ADC (Bot): Miss Fortune, Jinx — high damage output with fairly straightforward mechanics.
- Support: Thresh, Nautilus — both have reliable engage tools and can carry games through vision and pick potential.
A-Tier: Strong but Slightly Less Dominant
A-Tier champions are excellent choices and require no excuse to play. They're slightly less forgiving or meta-warped than S-Tier, but are competitive in almost any matchup.
- Top: Fiora, Camille, Malphite
- Jungle: Hecarim, Amumu, Diana
- Mid: Viktor, Orianna, Zed
- ADC: Caitlyn, Jhin, Kai'Sa
- Support: Lulu, Blitzcrank, Morgana
B-Tier: Viable with the Right Player
B-Tier picks can absolutely win games in the right hands, but they tend to require more specific conditions — strong matchups, coordinated teams, or above-average mechanical skill from the player.
| Role | Champions | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Top | Urgot, Sion, Nasus | Scale-dependent; can be bullied early |
| Jungle | Shaco, Nidalee, Kindred | High skill expression required |
| Mid | Katarina, Akali, Yasuo | Punishing to master, rewarding when done right |
| ADC | Draven, Kalista, Aphelios | Mechanically demanding carries |
| Support | Bard, Pyke, Zilean | Unique play patterns, team-dependent |
C-Tier: Currently Undertuned
C-Tier doesn't mean unplayable — it means the champion faces uphill battles in the current meta. If one of these is your true main, mastery still matters, but be aware you're playing on hard mode.
- Top: Rumble, Mordekaiser (matchup dependent)
- Jungle: Ivern, Rammus
- Mid: Taliyah, Aurelion Sol (post-rework positioning is tricky)
- ADC: Corki, Varus (bot lane)
- Support: Sona, Soraka (vulnerable to aggressive supports)
How to Choose Your Main
Don't just chase tier rankings. Ask yourself these questions:
- Do I enjoy the champion's playstyle? Passion improves consistency.
- Does the champion have a clear win condition I understand?
- Can the champion impact multiple phases of the game?
- Is the champion strong in at least 2–3 common matchups?
A well-played B-Tier main beats a poorly-played S-Tier pick every time. Use this list as a starting point, not a rulebook.
